Wood Smoke Reduction Program
The Wood Smoke Reduction Program, funded by the Department of Ecology and Department of Natural Resources, is aimed at reducing wood-stove smoke contribution to the poor air quality in the Greater Wenatchee Area.
We will be changing out 15 to 17 old wood stoves in homes surrounding the Greater Wenatchee area, including Wenatchee, East Wenatchee, Sunnyslope, Malaga & Rock Island. Participants will be encouraged to swap out their old woodstove with a Ductless Heat Pump, Pellet Stove, Gas Stove or new certified Wood Stove.
Priority will be given to households with:
1. Wood stove as primary heat source.
2. Respiratory or Cardio-impairment.
3.Senior citizens and/or children under six.
4. Wood burning devices older than 15.
5. At or below 200 percent poverty level.
