You grew up during a turbulent time in our history. You wanted to make a difference; you wanted to change the world. You've had a career or two, maybe you've raised a family, and now it’s time to revisit those dreams. We understand, we've been there, too. Join RSVP of North Central Washington and put your talents, skills and wealth of experience to work helping to improve life for all the residents of our community.
The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) of North Central Washington is a program of Chelan-Douglas Community Action Council that recruits and places volunteers 55 and older in local non-profit organizations, schools, and faith-based organizations working on critical issues facing our society. We serve communities in Chelan, Douglas, Okanogan, Grant, Adams, and Lincoln counties in North Central Washington State.
Our Mission Statement: The mission of the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) of North Central Washington is to help address critical community needs by recruiting volunteers 55 and older to lend their time and expertise in community service to non-profit organizations. In doing so, these volunteers will be provided with meaningful and on-going volunteer opportunities while they increase the capacity of their communities to address those critical needs.
What you’ll get when you join RSVP: Volunteering helps you live longer and get more satisfaction out of life. As an RSVP volunteer, you’ll get a meaningful assignment that provides you with an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of people in our communities. In addition, we provide supplemental accident and liability insurance at no cost to you.
What we ask in return: That you be willing to commit the time necessary to carry out a volunteer assignment. Time commitments range from a few hours a week to a few hours a month, depending on the opportunity you choose and the time you have available.

Community Action is partnering with Wenatchee Valley Farmer's Market and we are looking for a few volunteers to help with weighing and produce pickup on Wednesdays at 6:30-7:30 pm and Saturdays at 12:30-1:30 pm when the market closes. The volunteers would meet with the farmers at their stands to collect food, weigh it, prepare and provide a donation receipt for vendors and then place it on the shelf in the cooler. Volunteers must be able to lift 50 lbs.
The produce that is donated would go to our Food Distribution Warehouse to be distributed to our 10 area food pantries. This is such a great opportunity for us to receive fresh fruits and vegetables for our food pantries. We will need volunteers starting in June through October. Please call Karen Bruggman at 860-4334 or firstname.lastname@example.org or sign up for a time on SignUpGenius.
