Intermountain AmeriCorps is a part of a national service movement striving to rebuild communities while broadening educational and life skills opportunities for citizens. AmeriCorps offers opportunities for Americans to make a substantial commitment to serve their country, mobilizing at the local level to build a national movement for positive change.
Intermountain AmeriCorps has served rural school districts and community agencies in North Central Washington state since 1993. The program joined the Serve Washington portfolio in 2019. AmeriCorps Members strive to meet the needs of youth and expand coordination between school districts, community members, and other social service and community agencies.
As a team, we work towards measured goals throughout the year to see the impact made on organizations, community members, and students that members serve throughout our region.
Members of all ages join us from all over the country and locally to make a difference for students, families, and communities in need. People join for several different reasons-- to give back to the community and country, explore the education or nonprofit fields, or gain some "real-world experience." You won't get rich by doing AmeriCorps, but the rewards are substantial.
Our program year is 10.5 months long, beginning in September of each year. Members join us full-time and are placed in schools and community organizations, working with youth and adults of our community to improve education and skills.
